Gabby believes every child deserves excellent care. Her first job was as a swim instructor, and watching children make strides in their skills and build confidence gave her the bug, and she never stopped working with children. Her degree is in Social Work, and she has used her knowledge base to work with children who live on the autism spectrum, as well as trauma survivors, and children who come from every walk of life. She approaches her work with children from a strengths and empowerment perspective. She believes strongly in trauma-informed care. This means that she prioritizes co-regulation, respect for where the child needs to be met, and acknowledgement of their capabilities as young humans, where children are held to a high standard while being supported through learning how to be a person, including emotion regulatation. Her passion is in being a part of building childhoods that young people do not have to heal from when they become adults. Gabby has more than ten years of childcare and teaching experience, specializing in children under 3, and she has three years of experience teaching in a Montessori school. Her goal is to learn something new from her students everyday. Outside of school, you can find her cuddled up with one of her cats, Hope and Julian, and badly singing along to showtunes!
