Two Roots was created by two Mothers who wanted to build something different: A school that felt peaceful but not rigid, intentional but not cold, and high-quality without feeling out of reach. We wanted to create the kind of school we would choose for our own children.
After years of working for large, for-profit schools and companies, we saw how budget limitations were used to justify low wages for teachers, limited classroom materials, and constant compromises in quality. We watched talented, passionate educators burn out or leave the field entirely not because they lacked heart, but because the system around them made it unsustainable to stay.
We knew there had to be a better way.
As a nonprofit, there are no owners or investors siphoning revenue, no shareholders to answer to. Instead, every dollar is reinvested directly into the school, our Guides, and every family who walks in our doors. We believe that children thrive when the adults caring for them feel respected, confident, and inspired. We are able to support our educators through enticing benefits, fair and competitive wages, and stability that leads to long-term relationships with children and families.
Just as Maria Montessori intended, our nonprofit model allows us to serve families who might not otherwise be able to access a Montessori education. High-quality early education should not be limited to those of greater privilege, and we are committed to ensuring cost is never the barrier. Diversity, opportunity, and belonging make our community stronger.
At the root of it, our school exists to provide an environment that allows children to grow, and always chooses people over profit.

Two Roots is a Montessori community where children grow independence, confidence, and real joy for learning. Starting in infancy and continuing through elementary, we nurture a warm, child-centered school where families feel a sense of belonging and children thrive.
Montessori is a hands-on, child-focused learning style inside a carefully prepared environment. Children choose purposeful work, build concentration, and are safe to practice true independence with trained Guides who observe, present lessons, and protect focus.
