Hi, I’m Emma Broadfoot, Co-Founder and President of Two Roots Montessori. Helping to create this school has been one of the most transformative and purpose-driven experiences of my life. I didn’t start this journey expecting to launch a school from the ground up—but when the heart of the community I loved was at risk of disappearing, I knew I had to take a stand. Two Roots was born out of that moment—out of a desire to preserve what mattered, reimagine what could be, and build something that reflects our deepest values about childhood, education, and equity.
I bring over a decade of experience in education, including public, private, and Department of Defense schools. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Boston University and have spent more than eight years in the classroom, working closely with young children and their families. I’ve always believed in child-led, developmentally appropriate learning—and discovering Montessori felt like coming home. It aligned perfectly with everything I knew in my gut to be true about how children learn best: through curiosity, exploration, and being trusted to unfold at their own pace.
As President of Two Roots, I oversee licensing, curriculum development, staff hiring and training, and the day-to-day decisions that shape the culture of our school. I’m committed to building a space that empowers not only children, but also teachers—where their expertise is honored and their growth is nurtured. I care deeply about fostering a school community that is inclusive, intentional, and rooted in strong family partnerships.
I’m also a mom to a fiercely independent and imaginative three-year-old who reminds me daily why this work matters. I know what it feels like to search for a place where your child will be safe, understood, and celebrated. That’s what we are building at Two Roots. A place where families don’t just drop off their children—they become part of a supportive, like-minded village.
Starting a nonprofit was never part of my original plan, but it has become a powerful extension of my purpose. I’m learning new things every day and walking through this process with humility, curiosity, and grit. I believe in the work we’re doing—and in the future we’re building, one classroom and one family at a time.

Hey there! I’m Danielle Snelson-Meadows, Co-Founder, Vice President, and Treasurer of Two Roots Montessori. I’m a mom, a leader, and someone who believes deeply in the power of early childhood education that honors the whole child. My heart is in creating a school environment where families feel supported, children are celebrated, and learning happens with joy and purpose.
My professional background is in education management, photography, and operations, with over 15 years of experience in leadership roles. I’ve led teams ranging from 3 to 200+ people, managed budgets, built systems from the ground up, and learned to balance vision with practicality. At Two Roots, I serve as Treasurer—overseeing financial planning and ensuring we steward every dollar with care and transparency. As Vice President and Co-Founder, I’m also deeply involved in the day-to-day—connecting with families, shaping our systems, and supporting our team through every step of the journey.
At the core of my work is my “why.” I’m a single mom to two wildly curious, vibrant toddler girls. I understand what it means to search for a school that meets your child’s needs, matches your values, and fits your reality. I bring that perspective into everything I do—working to create a space that feels welcoming, inclusive, and deeply intentional for every family that walks through our doors.
I’m excited to step into this new chapter—launching a Montessori school rooted in trust, connection, and a belief that every child deserves to be truly seen. As we prepare to open, I’m pouring my energy into designing a space that feels like home—for children, educators, and families alike.
Outside of school, I’m pursuing my master’s degree in psychology, raising two incredible girls, and organizing a ministry through my church to support foster families. Whether I’m leading a team, walking a parent through their options, or brainstorming late into the night, I show up with heart, purpose, and a deep belief in the potential of every child.

Hi, I am Maggie Broach, the Elementary Lead Guide for grades 1–6 at Two Roots Montessori and Secretary of our nonprofit board. I’m honored to serve in a dual role that allows me to be both in the classroom with our amazing students and behind the scenes supporting our broader mission of accessible, high-quality Montessori education.
My professional background is in English literature, secondary education, and literacy, and I hold degrees from Vanderbilt University and MTSU. After nearly a decade in education, Montessori truly captured my heart. The philosophy aligns beautifully with my belief that children are capable, curious, and deserving of a learning environment that respects their individuality and sparks joy.
As a Lead Guide, I have the privilege of working with children in their elementary years, a transformative time full of big questions, growing independence, and deepening social connections. My classroom blends academic exploration with creative thinking, collaboration, and real-world application. Whether students are diving into research, tackling long division, writing poetry, or leading community projects, I aim to create a space where they feel seen, supported, and challenged in all the best ways.
I also mentor and collaborate with our teaching team, helping to build a consistent and loving culture across the school. As Secretary of our nonprofit, I assist with documentation, planning, and communication efforts, ensuring we stay organized and mission-focused as we grow. It’s important to me that our work not only transforms lives in the classroom, but also ripples outward into the community.
What keeps me inspired is watching students become more confident in themselves and compassionate toward others. I love seeing them take ownership of their learning and lean into their natural leadership, which is what Montessori education does; it empowers children to become thoughtful, engaged citizens who believe they can make a difference.
Being a part of Two Roots, both as an educator and a founding board member, is deeply meaningful to me. I’m grateful every day for the chance to help shape something so full of purpose, and to walk alongside families, educators, and students as we grow together.
As two single mothers raising daughters, we know firsthand how important it is to have a village; a place that is safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where children can grow into their truest selves. We started Two Roots Montessori, so our daughters could continue in their Montessori education, surrounded by the "village" we have created. We hope that our daughters will see that it is important to fight for what you believe in and the people you care about.
