Nurturing Young Minds with Montessori
At Two Roots Montessori, we believe in nurturing the whole child through a child-centered approach. Our philosophy emphasizes independence, respect, and a love for learning, allowing children to thrive in a supportive environment.
"The greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence" - Maria Montessori
This journey began with a deep love for a school community that felt more like home than work.
As two school leaders committed to child-centered education and family partnership, we found ourselves in a difficult and emotional position. The school we helped nurture was being sold to a new owner whose values and educational approach were vastly different from the Montessori philosophy we hold close. It was clear that the heart of what made the school so special would not remain the same.
We knew we had to try.
With the backing of trusted mentors, investors, and community supporters, we put in motion a plan to purchase the school ourselves. But the process came with unexpected challenges. We were given only one week to make an offer. The building required major repairs, and the sale included another school we were not in a position to take on. Despite our best efforts, the circumstances made it impossible to move forward.
Letting go was heartbreaking. But in that moment, we realized something powerful. The true spirit of our school was never about the building—it was about the people, the culture, and the shared belief that children thrive when they are trusted, respected, and given the freedom to grow.
So, we chose to begin again.
We are now building a new Montessori school with the same heart, the same values, and the same dedication to children and families. It will be a place where curiosity is encouraged, joy is celebrated, and every voice matters. Though the setting may be new, the mission remains unchanged.
We invite you to follow our journey as we bring this vision to life. If you're interested in enrolling your child when we open, we would love to stay in touch. Please sign up for our pre-registration list to receive updates and be among the first to know when enrollment begins.
Together, we can rebuild something beautiful.
Hi, I'm Emma Broadfoot
I’m a dedicated school leader With more than ten years in early childhood education, I bring a heart for leadership and a belief that schools should be vibrant, community-centered spaces where every child feels a sense of belonging.
I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education from Boston University and have worked in public schools, private schools, and with the Department of Defense. These experiences have shaped my leadership style to be collaborative, intentional, and focused on creating environments where children and educators thrive.
Becoming a mother gave me a new perspective and a deeper sense of purpose. My daughter inspired me to step into leadership in a way that could influence not just one classroom, but an entire school culture. My work is guided by a deep commitment to equity, joyful learning, and building strong relationships with families and staff.
When I’m not working on school planning, you can usually find me with my daughter making crafts, playing doctor, singing ABBA, hiking, cooking, or thrifting for hidden treasures.
Hi, I'm Danielle Snelson-Meadows
I'm a heart-led school leader, Montessori advocate, and mother of two with a passion for all things art and creative. With over a decade of experience in management and school operations, I’ve made it my mission to build communities where children feel safe, supported, and inspired.
I’m excited to step into a new chapter: launching a Montessori school rooted in trust, purpose, and the belief that every child deserves to be seen. While we prepare to open our doors, I’m pouring my energy into designing a space that feels like home—for children, educators, and families alike.
Outside of school, I’m pursuing my Masters degree in psychology, raising two beautiful toddlers, and organizing a ministry through my church to support foster care families. Whether I’m leading a team or helping a parent navigate the early years, I show up with warmth, vision, and a deep belief in the potential of every child.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out by phone or email and Emma or Danielle would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
